My first Twitter meme.

Ever since I lived in NE Portland, I noticed that it's not "Popeye's", like you'd expect. Then I saw it, and couldn't un-see it.

Eventually, they had a papal conclave, and I had to haul out GIMP (my old Photoshop 3 only ran on the SGI O2!) and finally bring it to life.

It got very little traction, but to be fair, it's a bit obscure. Even That One Catholic Guy at the Beaverton C. S. Lewis Society didn't grok it at first.

And yes, @mikestanphil is my Twitter/X handle. It's an in-joke about the time a friend introduced several people, including myself, to her brother. Hearing my name, he asked,

"Your name's Stan...?"

Expecting he, like many people, didn't hear the last part right, I completed it:

"...fill."

He became perplexed.

"Your name's Phil?"

"No, it's Mike."

I thought his head was going to explode.
